(Un)Documented America
Despite the growing number of undocumented students pursuing higher education, there remains a notable gap in the literature regarding undocumented experiences and perspectives. The transition from K-12 to higher education (and beyond) is an intricate process that poses significant challenges to all students.

Inspired by the lasting impact of his late brother, whose memory serves as a guiding force in his life, Javier embarked on a journey to embrace his own roots—a journey that once carried feelings of shame but has since evolved into a mission to celebrate and illuminate the richness of undocumented experince.
In a forthcoming book anthology, Javier seeks to weave together the diverse collective of real undocumented testimonies from every corner of the United States and Puerto Rico. He aims to transcend barriers of race, language, religion, class, and gender, illustrating the uniqueness and interconnectedness of these stories and their profound resonance within the broader undocumented community. Through his writing, Javier endeavors to offer a deeply human perspective on what it means to pursue an education as an undocumented individual, showcasing resilience, strength, and the universal quest for belonging.
